Other fundraising ideas include: Letter-writing campaign Send a letter or e-mail to your friends, family, co-workers, vendors, neighbors and everyone else you know asking them to sponsor you in the Run. Letters and e-mails are an easy and effective way to raise money while touching base with friends. If sending a letter through the mail, try including a return envelope that is addressed to you and don't forget to direct people to the Lombardi website (www.lombardiclassic.com). They can donate through the "Donate Now" tab. New - we've made fundraising even easier with the My Campaign tool. By using My Campaign you can build your own web page to encourage your friends and family to assist in your fundraising efforts. Best of all, it is quick and easy! Football pin-ups Football pin-ups are a great way to promote awareness for the Lombardi Run in a place of business. For a $1 donation to the Lombardi, patrons can sign their names to a football shaped cutout and hang the image in a high-traffic area to show their support. Please contact the Lombardi office for paper footballs. Corporate sponsors Ask your company if they will sponsor the Run or ask your team members about getting their companies involved. And don't forget to ask your company if they offer a matching funds program. Casual day On a specified day, employees can make a pre-determined contribution to the Lombardi Run to Daylight for the privilege of wearing jeans at the workplace. Make it a challenge to see which department or branch has the most participants. If you work in an environment that is already very casual, consider a hat day or crazy-shirt day instead. If interested, contact the Lombardi office for stickers that can be handed out to all participating employees. Ice cream social Host an "ice scream social" in your office and ask an executive of your company or a department manager to "scoop" the ice cream. Employees can make a donation to the Lombardi Run in exchange for a frozen treat. Bake sale Ask your co-workers to help you make a variety of baked goods and sell them for a price that will ensure a profit. Be sure to publicize the bake sale ahead of time so people bring their money in anticipation of a tasty treat. A penny per... Certain businesses are willing to donate a penny per item sold on a particular day or month to a charity. Establishments where this has been successful include: gas stations donating a penny per gallon of gas sold; video stores donating a dollar per video rented each weekend for a month; bars donating a penny per beer sold on a weekend, etc. Priority parking No one wants to walk from the back of the parking lot in the middle of winter. Hold a raffle for a reserved priority parking spot. For $1 or $5 a month, your co-workers can enter the raffle and relish in a few extra minutes of warmth.
