Vince Lombardi Award of Excellence Dinner BallHome | 2009 Honoree | Past recipients | Reservations | Sponsor packages | General information | Car raffle | Auction items | Sileno Award General information Event - 19th Annual Vince Lombardi Award of Excellence Dinner Ball Date - Saturday, March 7, 2009 Location - The Pfister Hotel; Milwaukee, Wisconsin Purpose and proceeds - Vince Lombardi Charitable Funds is a 38-year old volunteer organization whose sole purpose is to raise funds for cancer research, education, patient care and early detection at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Proceeds from the Vince Lombardi Award of Excellence Dinner Ball, Vince Lombardi Golf Classic, Lombardi Walk for Cancer, Lombardi Ride to Daylight, Lombardi Food & Wine Experience and the Blocks of Granite program bring the amount raised by the Lombardi to over $11 million. The Award of Excellence - The Vince Lombardi Award of Excellence is presented annually to a person the Selection Committee determines has made a 'Hall of Fame' contribution to a sport, profession, business or community in a manner that exemplifies the highest qualities of leadership, positive influence and an appreciation of God, country, family and self - not only to the sport, profession or business involved, but to the men, women and children whose lives are enhanced by striving to emulate those standards.
