The annual Vince Lombardi Award of Excellence Dinner Ball was created by Vince Lombardi Charitable Funds as a means of recognizing individuals who have made a Hall of Fame contribution to sport, profession or business in a manner that exemplifies appreciation of God, country, society, family and self, not only for the sport, profession or business involved, but to the men, women and children whose lives are enhanced by emulating those standards. The Award of Excellence is awarded annually to one whom has captured the spirit of commitment and pursuit of excellence; standards which define the Lombardi.
